My story
About Mindy
Yoga has taught me how to survive and thrive in life. Through asana and pranayama, I have found tools for becoming a better version of myself, cultivating patience, and developing a deeper awareness of my body and the present moment. Whether through five minutes of meditation or hours of movement, my daily practice informs every aspect of my life.
I began practicing yoga in my early twenties while living in Seattle, where I explored a variety of styles, including vinyasa, ashtanga, yin, hatha, and Bikram. In 2016, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training with Ganga White and Tracy Rich, initially intending to deepen my personal practice. Through that experience, I discovered a passion for teaching and a desire to share the gift of yoga with others.
After returning to Kitsap County, I taught at several local studios before purchasing Sweet Heat Yoga in 2019 and rebranding it as Sweet Santosha. I guided the studio through the pandemic, adapting to an online platform, and sold it in 2021 while continuing to teach there.
My classes blend fluid movement, playful asana, strength, and breath, often accompanied by upbeat music. With additional training in barre and sculpt, I enjoy incorporating core work, strength-building, and a sense of play into my classes. I am passionate about creating safe, sustainable, and welcoming spaces where students can connect with themselves and build a lifelong yoga practice. My favorite classes to teach are heated vinyasa and Yoga Sculpt.
I live in Kingston, Washington, with my husband, Ross, our son, Everhett, and our three dogs. Outside the studio, I work in nonprofit fundraising and development, enjoy running with my German Shepherds, Lena and Kaila, growing dahlias, and love spending time outdoors with my family, especially at our favorite retreat, our property in Forks.
